We are very excited about the recent development of the Emergency Use Authorization by the FDA and the recommendation by the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices for the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for persons 12 years of age and older!  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/recommendations/adolescents.html

Another exciting development is the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics has relaxed the requirement of 14 days between administration of the COVID vaccine with other vaccinations. This means your child may receive their other routine adolescent vaccinations at the same time or any time after receiving the COVID vaccine. https://services.aap.org/en/news-room/news-releases/aap/2021/american-academy-of-pediatrics-calls-for-children-and-teens-age-12-and-up-to-get-the-covid-19-vaccine/

We have received many inquiries this week regarding whether we will be administering the vaccine in our offices. We are currently coordinating with the Florida Department of Health on the logistics of receiving the vaccine in our offices to administer to our patients. Please follow our social media outlets and website for updates. In the meantime, we strongly recommend for your child to be vaccinated as soon possible at a location convenient for you. https://www.vaccines.gov/
