A message from Dr. Smith:
It is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement from pediatric practice effective December 31, 2026. After graduating from medical school in 1988 and completing my pediatric residency at Orlando Health/Arnold Palmer Hospital, I joined Casselberry Pediatrics in Maitland on July 20, 1992. The practice later merged with The Pediatric Group to form Interlachen Pediatrics. By the time I retire, I will have spent nearly 35 years caring for children in private pediatric practice. I have always viewed medicine as more than a profession—it has been the mission through which I was called to serve others. I have been blessed with wonderful partners and coworkers and, most importantly, with the privilege of caring for generations of children. I am deeply grateful for the trust you placed in me and for allowing me to participate in your child’s care.
Although I am retiring, Interlachen Pediatrics will continue to provide care for my patients. Our physicians and advanced practice providers will have access to your child’s medical record, allowing care to continue without interruption. Please contact our office if you would like assistance selecting another provider within the practice. Your child’s medical records will remain securely maintained by Interlachen Pediatrics. You may obtain a copy or request that the records be transferred to another healthcare provider by submitting a properly completed Medical Records release authorization form found online at Intpeds.com or by contacting:

No action is required if your child will continue receiving care at Interlachen Pediatrics; however, please verify with your insurance plan whether you need to select another Interlachen Pediatrics provider as your child’s primary care provider (PCP).
I retire knowing that my patients will remain in the capable and caring hands of my partners and colleagues. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your children’s lives. My sincere prayer for each of you is a long, healthy, and fulfilling life.
